Happy 6-month Birthday to Me!

Today is my 6-month birthday, and I got my very first birthday cake. Gram D. came over to celebrate with me, after all it's her half-birthday too! That's right, I share my birthday with my grandma.

Mommy, Daddy and Gram enjoyed the cake. As for me? Well...I'm not too sure about it.

Is It Obvious That I'm Teething?!?!

Posing for Pictures

Oh! Mommy!

HEY! Enough With the Pictures Already!

Sighs and Dolls

Mommy and I went to the bookstore the other day. While Mommy was looking at a book for me, she spied two ladies staring at me. They came over and told Mommy that they couldn't believe that I was an actual baby. That I looked just like a beautiful little doll sitting in my stroller, so content.

Mommy says that it's amazing how many people come up to her to tell her that I'm cute or look just like a doll. I guess that in some of the pictures that Mommy takes I do look like a doll.

But, I'm a real baby, I promise.

Expensive Toys Not Necessary

Some of my absolute favorite "games" don't involve expensive toys at all, like

* Mommy pretending that she's a breeze blowing through my hair
* Looking out the window with Daddy
* Watching the kitty cats do anything
* "Talking" on the phone, like Mommy (no joke!)
* Having a book read to me
* Daddy pretending that he's not looking at me then quickly looking at me and saying "Boo!"
* Mommy and Daddy making fun faces at me
* Mommy making up and singing songs, especially the song about how she loves all of my parts (one favorite line: "I love your neck, I love your belly, I even love when you diaper is smelly!")
* Walking around as Mommy and Daddy tell me the names of things.
* Dancing
* Hugging
* Mommy and Daddy blowing raspberries on my belly.
* Being called by my nicknames---"Baby", "Booper" or "Boop"
* Playing with my feet and trying to take off my socks
* Chewing on..well...anything, but mostly little teething toys.
* Mommy and Daddy whispering "I love you" to me because I know that that is something really special and really good.

To Tell You the Tooth...

I "cut" my first tooth yesterday (February 9)!

*Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!*

Sorry, but this teething stage is tough. After three days of feeling "hot" without a fever and being a little cranky (because I'm generally a content baby), Mommy noticed a microscopic piece of my front right bottom tooth poking through. Mommy rubbed my gums and pronounced, "Baby has a tooth!"

And tomorrow is my 6-month birthday; and what a great gift!

Now, um, when does that tooth fairy show up?
