One-Year Well-Visit

On August 16, I had my one-year well visit at the doctor's. And boy, do I have a good memory. At first, I was all excited watching the other children in the waiting room. But the moment that we went into the actual room and the nurse went to weight me, I was so sad (crying, trying to get back into Mama's arms, frowning). I do not like the doctor's office at all. I am very clingy to Mama the whole time; I just would't let go of her.

But I was still a trooper (that's what Mama said). I got three shots, I have to go back on Friday for a TB test (it's standard), and the doctor checked my ears and mouth.

It ends up that I'm getting in my molars---so THAT'S why my mouth hurts lately---and I'm 32 inches long and 24.4 pounds. The doctor says that I'm right on target with where I should be. And she was also very glad to hear that I'm walking on my own already---8-10 steps at a time now.

I'm just glad that it's all over...at least, until the next time (in 3 months).

I'm One!

For my birthday, Dada, Mama, Grandma, and Gampa L took me to a petting zoo. Grandma rode a kiddie train with me and helped me to "drive" a truck. Gampa showed me the tractors. We had a lot of fun. (But everyone forgot their cameras!)

The next day, I had a photo shoot with all of my first cousins and then we had a party at my Gram D's house. Almost all of my cousins from Dada's side were there too---first, second, and third cousins! My oldest first-cousin, Samantha (who is 13 years older than me), took really good care of me. And Grandma L made me a homemade cake too for the party (see picture)!

Here I am with my first cousins at the professional shoot (they take one every year---this is my first one!); and then a picture of me at the party with the cousins again. And finally, a picture of me blowing out the candles on my special cake.

And I have one more party to go! Wow! Turning 1 years old must be very, very special!
