Field Day at School

Normally, I don't go to school on Fridays but today was an extra special day. It was Field Day 2007! That means that they set up lots of races and games for us to play outside. And the whole school participates! Mama and I spent the morning at Field Day. We saw all of our usual friends. Then cousin Cara and baby Alec came too (to be with Ryan, my cousin who I also go to school with.) It was so much fun.

The day before our class made T-shirts with magic markers, then Robbie (my favorite teacher who is a big NY Yankees fan) put numbers on the back of the shirts to correspond with Yankees players. I was the same number as some guy named Joe Torre. (And yes, Mama told Dada all about it! He just laughed---he is a Red Sox fan.)

Anyway...back to Field Day...it was really hot outside so we played a few games, got a water break, played some more, then went inside and had watermelon and cookies. Then it was time to go home.

I was so pooped out from all of the running that I fell asleep in the car even before we left the parking lot. Wow, that was a great time. Can't wait til next year!!!

Another New Friend

Here is a picture of me hugging my new friend, Annie, who is 3 years old. This is the first day that we met. After having a picnic, playing hide-and-go seek, and playing chase, we stopped just long enough to give each other a quick hug (which I initiated). Mama said to Annie's mom that this was a big deal, because I really like my own personal space (and am not afraid to let others know that I want my space). Other than hugs and kisses with family, I have never really been one for hand holding and hugs and kisses with other kids. But Annie and I just liked each other immediately.

I even blew her kisses as we were leaving (which Mama always finds amusing!). We plan to see each other again really soon.
